Joey
Rose -
Lead, Harmony & Back-up Vocals, Electric & Acoustic
Guitars

According to his Mom and Dad, Joey has
been singing for as long as he’s been able to
talk. He’s used this talent any way he could,
whether singing in his high school chorus at Calvert
Hall, trying his hand in a successful run in musical
theatre, hosting karaoke shows for Eddie Hitt’s
Karaoke Jukebox, or playing in a number of bands in
the Central Maryland Area. Most recently, Joey spent
nearly three years as part of SoMD’s own Absinthe,
as a guitarist and backing vocalist.
Joey’s influences are varied and
this variety helped shape his vocal style. Included
in this long list are Elvis Presley, Robert Plant, Steve
Perry, David Coverdale, Rob Halford, Sebastian Bach,
J.S. Soto, Joe Lynn Turner, and Layne Staley. As a result
of his influences and varied performance background,
Joey is an engaging performer who can quickly bring
the energy level of any crowd to fever pitch.
While music is his passion and creative
outlet, Joey’s true joy comes from his family,
especially his children: Jay, Arianne, Emma, and Zach.
By day, he’s a computer geek for a large Baltimore
based energy company.
Joey uses Shure and Sennheiser microphones,
Gibson and Ibanez electric guitars, Martin acoustic
guitars, Boss, Morley, and MXR effects, and Marshall
Amps.
