George
Dimitri - Bass
Guitar, Keyboards, Lead, Harmony & Back-up Vocals,
Harmonica

A seasoned veteran of the
live music scene, George began his playing career back
in 1985 when he purchased a Cort hot pink Titan bass
(which he still has). He thumped out the low end in
80’s local bands Taz and In N Out and George has
2 CD recordings of original music from those bands.
In 1992, with the coming demise of the 80’s metal
scene, George moved on to Top40 and for the next 10
years played in successful Top40 variety bands such
as Impostor, Skyline, and Wildfire (voted Best Band
overall – 2000 Western Maryland Times/News Annual
Reader’s Poll). It was with Wildfire that George
moved from bass to playing keyboards, guitar, and harmonica.
The trend continued when he joined Alive-n-Kickin' in
2002.
From 2002 until summer
2006 George was AnK's keyboardist and rhtyhm guitarist.
Member changes that summer led to several auditions
for a new bassist. After several attempts, it was decided
that the Conklin beasts would come out of retirement
and George would be back on his strongest instrument,
the bass.
George's bass influences
are numerous and vary across many styles of playing.
The speed of Bill "Buddha" Dickens, the thunderous
gallops of Steve Harris, the tapping virtuosity of Billy
Sheehan, the frenetic slapping of Flea, and the smooth
Jazz improv styles of Stanley Clarke and Jaco Pastorius
can all be heard in his playing.
George has years of theory
training, vocal coaching, and instrument lessons under
his belt. The versatility necessary to playing all the
styles of music that Top40 demands has made George an
exceptionally complete player on several instruments.

Accenting his playing, George is a very active entertainer.
His energy is unparalleled on stage. “I have always
felt that musicians need to entertain and showmanship
on stage is part of the entertainment package.”
