Dave Villarreal - Keyboards, Piano, Lead, Harmony & Back-up vocals

David comes to us all the way from the great state of Texas where he was born and raised in a diverse musical family. His earliest memories as a child were being taken to night clubs, watching his grandfather Rene Sandoval, a successful Jazz/Latin music saxophone player during live performances. David witnessed just how influential music can be and knew then that music would be a major part of his life.

David began singing as early as he could talk and performed in school choirs since elementary. He competed in regional solo competitions; where he took first in the tenor category for the entire southern Texas region and then on to dominate high school competitors in the whole state of Texas.

During this same time frame David was forced into piano lessons for 8 years of his life. Little did David know that these skills would prove to be quite valuable. One day in school, David began playing and singing “Honestly” by Stryper. He later received a note from one of the hottest girls in school asking him to a dance. It was then that David truly realized the power of music. He quickly joined up with a few other guys and started his first rock band.

David continued playing in bands throughout his high school and college years. He focused on keyboards and piano but added acoustic guitar and sang in several bands, opening up for some big name Country music stars including; George Strait, Kenny Chesney and Tracy Lawrence, to name a few.

David later joined the Navy and is currently in his 12th year of service. When he is not deployed or rockin’ the boards, he spends all of his time with his beautiful wife Erica and son Joey.

David’s influences span a variety of genres but include: Toto’s David Paich, Dream Theatre’s Jordan Rudess, Diamond Rio’s Dan Truman and jazz greats Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock.

David plays the Yamaha Motif XS8, Korg M3, and the Roland Fantom X7, all of which are amplified through a Roland KC-550. Occasionally, you can see David playing his Takamine G-Series Acoustic Guitar.
